Christantus Uche Fuels Dominant Crystal Palace Victory at Shelbourne.
Even though entering their first-ever European adventure, Oliver Glasner's side are adapting at a rapid pace. Without star figures like forward Jean-Philippe Mateta and defender Daniel Muñoz, the Eagles departed Dublin with a comfortable win that all but guarantees them a spot in the Europa Conference League qualifying rounds.
Another three points in their next match against Finnish KuPS ought to be sufficient to seal direct passage to the last 16, especially following a previous setback against Strasbourg.
Squad Members Grasp the Opportunity
This match offered a platform for some of Palace's lesser-used talent to shine. Christantus Uche, making only his second start after joining on loan from Getafe, notched the scoring with a clinical goal. Forward Eddie Nketiah added a another, finding the net for the second game in succession.
The Shelbourne side that had finished their league season proved outmatched even for a largely rotated Palace lineup. The visitors were further weakened by the reports that Mateta and Muñoz are sidelined with knee problems.

Despite heavy rain in Dublin, Palace quickly established dominance. A flowing passing sequence in the 11th minute, initiated by Daichi Kamada's clever pass, allowed Nketiah to lay on Uche for a simple finish.
Midfielder Adam Wharton came close minutes later, fizzing a long-range shot over the bar. Nketiah then appealed for a penalty after bursting into the area, but the referee waved away the appeals.
Ex-Arsenal striker didn't need to wait long to find his goal, prodding home from a yard out after Uche's shot had hit the post.
Shelbourne were clinging on desperately. Full-back Kameron Ledwidge was lucky to escape a booking for two robust challenges on Yeremy Pino, before Chris Richards struck the crossbar with a powerful header from a corner.
Pino Wraps Up the Contest
The match was effectively over eight minutes before half-time. Yeremy Pino meandered past some weak challenges before calmly dispatching a shot past keeper Wessel Speel to make it 3-0.
Following the break, coach Oliver Glasner took the chance to withdraw several individuals like Kamada and Wharton. Substitute Romain Esse came close to scoring his first touch, but saw his effort blocked.
The youngster was incredibly unlucky later on, seeing one attempt strike off each posts before being clasped on the line. Uche also blazed a sitter of a chance, showing there is still scope for development in his game.
The only concern for Palace was a second-half knock to Justin Devenny, who limped off. This allowed 17-year-old striker Benji Casey to earn his senior debut, capping an otherwise perfect evening for the visiting side.
